A spacious but cosy cottage in a converted farm steading featuring 2ft thick stone walls and a slated roof in beautiful North East Fife, and conveniently located for St. Andrews (35 minutes), Gleneagles (50 minutes), Perth (25 minutes), Edinburgh (45 minutes), Dundee (30 minutes) by car.
Pitmedden Farm is located 1.5 miles north of the ancient village of Auchtermuchty in a beautiful rural setting with direct access to Pitmedden
Forest for those who enjoy walking and wildlife, off-road cycling or just peace and tranquillity, whilst still being close to a host of interesting facilities and historic places.

 Please Note - Pitmedden is only a "hobby  farm" so your stay will not be disturbed by noisy farm machinery moving about.

This single level cottage sleeps up to 5 persons and comprises:-  
   
3 bedrooms - One double bedroom : one twin bedroom : one single bedroom. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe
space, bedside tables and clock/radio.
Kitchen / Diner - Fully fitted kitchen with full electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, washer/dryer, etc. and
separate furnished dining area.
Lounge - Comfortably furnished lounge with ample seating, TV with European & Freeview Satellite reception, DVD Player and  CD player/radio.
Bathroom - Tiled bathroom with heated towel rail, shaver socket and shower over bath.
   

All rooms are electrically heated with reasonable costs included in the rental. Bed Linen and Towels are provided at no extra cost, as are hair dryers, iron and ironing boards. Cot and Highchair available on request.
   
West cottage has its own luxury Hot Tub for exclusive and free use by  the occupants, plus decked and grassed sitting and
Bar-B-Q areas.
     

OPEN - JANUARY  to  DECEMBER     RATES  £350 - £600 per week, Depending on Date
 
     VACATION RENTALS -  run Saturday to Saturday unless agreed otherwise in writing.
     
     
     
Just a few of the many varied amenities available nearby :-
GOLF - too numerous to list. Pitmedden is almost centrally located between St. Andrews and Gleneagles, and Carnoustie is within an
hour's drive. There are also many local and qualifying courses in between
OFF-ROAD CYCLING - Fife has many marked cycle routes including off-road routes and Pitmedden forest has miles of marked off-road tracks which can be accessed directly from Pitmedden Farm.  See Kingdom of Fife Cycleways          
NATURE - there are numerous reserves in and around Fife.  See www.swt-fife.org.uk
OFF-ROAD DRIVING - the Scottish Off-road Driving Centre is situated within just a few miles in fact if you like walking you can even

HORSE RIDING - riding for beginners and experienced riders can be enjoyed at the Barbarafield Riding School just 10 miles down the
road at Cupar.
GLIDING - flights can be booked a couple of evenings each week at Scottish Gliding Centre at Portmoak by Loch Leven about 12 miles

CLAY SHOOTING - clay-shooting, archery and air-rifle shooting can be enjoyed at the Cluny Clays Shooting & Entertainment Centre
about half an hour away. They also have a nine hole golf course and golf driving range.
FALKLAND PALACE - Falkland was a popular retreat with all the Stuart kings and in 1458 was made a royal burgh by James II. The
Royal Palace was the principle hunting lodge of the Stuarts and a favourite of Mary Queen of Scots. The Palace is open to the public
at certain times of the year. Falkland Palace also boasts the world's oldest tennis court still in use (real tennis of course).
SEA-LIFE CENTRE - the Deep Sea World Sea-life Centre at North Queensbury on the River Forth is only 30 minutes away.
SECRET BUNKER - something entirely different. Until the end of the cold war none of us was aware of this secret facility in our midst,
